Adaptation will add to original content of story, says Timm
Acclaimed artist/producer Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League) was in Louisiana at Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans today. He briefly talked about a project he’s working on, the anxiously awaited adaptation of the Alan Moore graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke. If you’re not familiar with the book, The Dark Knight goes after the Joker after he gravely injures a respected member of the Bat family.
Timm remained tightlipped about specifics of the project like the cast and animation style (I think it would be cool if they did the story in the style of BTAS, but they didn’t ask me), but he did reveal that the project will tell a longer, more extensive story than the original tale, while still remaining true to the source material. He also mentioned the feature will premiere at this summer’s San Diego Comic Con.
It is believed that the Blu-Ray and DVD of Batman: The Killing Joke will be released sometime this summer. DC Comics News will bring you more details as they become available.
