NBC Greenlights DC Comics Sitcom ‘Powerless’

DC Comics enters live-action comedy arena

NBC gives the go-ahead for a pilot order of Powerless, a workplace comedy set in the DC Comics Universe (think maybe The Office meets Gotham). We broke word about the series back in August of last year.

It’s not yet known if any heavy-hitters from DC Comics will be featured or even appear on the show. From first glance, the series will spotlight more “common folk” encountering superheroes à la Alex Ross’s Marvels.

Ben Queen (creator of NBC’s defunct comedy A to Z) will write the series, and Michael Patrick Jann (Reno 911 and Drop Dead Gorgeous) will direct.
