TNT Pulls Plug On ‘Titans’ Pilot

Drama based on DC Comics Property dropped by Network

Last May, we received an update regarding the live-action series planned by cable network TNT based on the Teen Titans. TNT President Kevin Reilly was quoted at last year’s Upfront “the [TV] landscape right now is well-serviced on the superhero front.” He continued, “So what space is this going to inhabit?”

Now it appears there will be no Titans Tower occupying space at TNT. The network has optioned not to move forward with series. “We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go,” TNT president Kevin Reilly said at today’s Television Critics Association meeting.

The show was to focus on Dick Grayson – recently abandoning his identity as Robin to become Nightwing, and stepping out of Batman’s shadow – leading a crew of young superheroes like Starfire, Raven and more. According to Nerdist.com, Barbara Gordon, Hawk/Hank Hall and Dove/Dawn Granger and Raven/Rachel Roth were also part of the team.
