DC Super Hero Girls are coming to a book store near you!

Earlier today, DC Entertainment announced some brand new details about their upcoming original graphic novel based on the hit animated shorts, DC Super Hero Girls.  The official title of the book will be DC Super Hero Girls: Final Crisis and will be written by Shea Fontana, with art by Yancey Labat.  Also joining the creative team are Monica Kubina and Janice Chiang as colorist and letterer, respectively.  No plot details have been released as of yet, but the book is scheduled for release on July 6, 2016 in comic book stores and on July 12, 2016 everywhere else books are sold.

An all-new DC Super Hero Girls animated short, titled Hero of the Month: Poison Ivy, also dropped this week on the DC Super Hero Girls website.  In this week’s episode, Poison Ivy is named ‘Hero of the Month’ for all her heroic good deeds.  Check out the video below and head on over to the official website to catch up on all of the other shorts.

The official synopsis for the animated series is as follows:

At Super Hero High, iconic Super Heroes like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, and Katana navigate all the twists and turns of high school. United by friendship, the DC Super Hero Girls empower kids to shine with confidence and courage, especially while they combat those overwhelming, exciting, and awesomely awkward moments of growing up (sometimes super powers can be super stressful!).

In the spring of 2016, the DC Super Hero Girls will also be launching a line of action dolls, figures and accessories, books, play sets and so much more.
