DC TV has gone from strength to strength in recent times, but one show that didn’t make the cut was Constantine. Then it happened, the show was cut and fans where disappointed including Stephen Amell. Arrow Season 4 will not only continue with its cross over with The Flash, but it will introduce a new one with Constantine. It happens in Episode 5 of Arrow.
The official overview of episode 5 explains that Oliver Queen and Constantine are “Old Friends”. Now, the backbone to Arrow has been the flashback scenes on and in around the Island. Amell has stated multiple times that CW execs have always planned for a minimum of 5 seasons which is based on Oliver’s time on the Island. It will be fascinating to find out the background to the relationship between Constantine and Oliver Queen. I’m sure we will see some cut scenes that take us back into their past.
The official overview of episode 5 is below:
“When things take a turn for the worse with Sara (guest star Caity Lotz), Oliver (Stephen Amell) calls in a favour from an old friend who deals in the mystical, John Constantine (guest star Matt Ryan).”
The character will reportedly help bring Sara Lance back from the dead. Whether this appearance from Matt Ryan’s John Constantine is really going to be a one-off or the start of something bigger remains to be seen, but it will be great to see the DC superhero again.
“When you see him in the show, honestly it feels like we’re doing a Constantine/Arrow crossover, and it’s so exciting,” Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Superhero Hype in an earlier interview.
“We’re just really glad we got the chance to extend Matt Ryan’s run as Constantine by at least one more hour of television. I think you’ll see he fits very neatly into our universe. It never feels forced, it feels right.”
Tune into Arrow season 4 on Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT on The CW.
