Season 2 of “The Flash” casts “Quick”!

There’s a whole lot of power ramping up the speed force for the upcoming second season of The Cw show The Flash starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster of Central City. Already the ominous shadow of “Zoom” has spread — the big baddie that will be plaguing Barry and his friends including Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) when the show returns is being kept a huge secret.

What isn’t is that fact that this year the Flash will have numerous allies joining him to take on the growing forces of evil that continue to cause our heroes grief! Fans can expect to meet Jay Garrick, the “original” Flash of Earth-2 early on when the show returns. Garrick was teased in the Season 1 finale when he’s helmet came flying out of the singularity generated by team at S.T.A.R. Labs. Teddy Sears has already been cast as Garrick.

The ultimate consequences of opening the singularity have not been revealed, but we can already surmise that a rift in time and space may have occurred opening a trajectory into alternate worlds and parallel universes. Show producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg have teased that the DC Comics multiverse was going to be further explored on their hit shows, and with Legends of Tomorrow poised to present some time travel components to its story, The Flash may be the launching point.

The announcement today that actress Violett Beane will be appearing as generational hero Jesse Quick is very exciting news to fans of the speed force storylines that were a popular component of DC Comics Creative Director Geoff Johns run as the writer of The Flash comics. Beane’s Jesse Quick has been described as a college student who gets caught between the Flash and his evil nemesis Zoom. In other casting news, the rogues gallery continues to grow!

Actor Demore Barnes will also be wielding the power of Tokamak against our heroes in "The Flash" Season 2.

The highly volatile Firestorm adversary Tokamak has also been cast by actor Demore Barnes. This is of course great news for fans of Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond — who was last seen flying into the vortex to help the Flash at the end of Season 1. With the addition of Tokamak to the list of bad guys appearing in the new season, we can expect that Amell will return as the Raymond-half of the famous “Burning Man” (or Nuclear Man) Firestorm in Season 2.
