Livewire Cast On ‘Supergirl’

Supergirl has found its Leslie Willis aka DC Comics’ character Livewire. Actress Brit Morgan (True Blood, The Middleman) has been cast to star as the electrifying supervillain.

Like Harley Quinn from Batman: The Animated Series, Livewire was first created for television. She was the brainchild of Bruce Timm, and created for Superman: The Animated Series in 1997. She was played by actress Lori Petty (Tank Girl, A League Of Their Own). And also like Harley, Livewire made the jump from television to mainstream comic books, tormenting the Man of Steel in Action Comics #835 (2006). She has resurfaced in the New 52 recently to torment Batgirl.

CW Prez Regrets Passsing On Supergirl

From the description, it appears the live action version of Livewire will share similar traits with her animated counterpart, “Morgan’s Leslie is a confident, abrasive and funny shock-jock who works for CatCo Media, the conglomerate owned by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). When an accident makes her as dangerous and shocking as her words, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) must stop her.”

Brit Morgan’s Livewire won’t be the only DC Comics character to appear on Supergirl. Also schedule to appear during the first season are Maxwell Lord, Red Tornado, Lucy Lane and Reactron.
