Michael Cera Casts As Robin… In “The LEGO Batman Movie”

Michael Cera will lend his voice to Robin in the Will Arnett led The LEGO Batman Movie, a Warner Bros.’ spinoff of The LEGO Movie. Cera and Arnett are co-stars on the Netflix comedy Arrested Development. Arnett will return as the narcissistic version of the Dark Knight he portrayed in The LEGO Movie.

The film will reunite the team of Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Chris McKay, who served as the animation supervisor on LEGO Movie, is directing.

Cera is no stranger to animation. He voiced and episode of The Simpsons. He also did the voiceover work for the title character in Scott Pilgrim vs. the Animation, a special feature included with the DVD release of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Cera will also voice-star in the Seth Rogen animated feature Sausage Party, set to open August 16.

LEGO Justice League: Attack Of The Legion Of Doom

While it is unclear if any version of Robin will appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this may mark the first time the character has been on screen since Batman & Robin (1997).

The LEGO Batman Movie is scheduled for release in theaters on February 10, 2017
