Suicide Squad: Joe Manganiello Rumored for Deathstroke

Joe Manganiello rumored to be in the lead for the role of Deathstroke in the Suicide Squad film!

Manganiello has worked with Suicide Squad director David Ayer before on the Ayer directed film Sabotage. This wouldn’t be the first time Manganiello’s name has been attached to a DC Comics film property. Manganiello was a frontrunner for the role of both the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel at one time or another.

Not much is known about what Deathstroke’s role would be in the Suicide Squad film. One rumor going around is, Deathstroke would be Amanda Waller’s personal bodyguard and act as an enforcer to the Squad to keep them in-line.

I hope David Ayer goes with the latest incarnation of Deathstroke from the Tony Daniel written and drawn series. A sleeker, stealthier more streamlined suit.

If you are currently reading Deathstroke, then you already know Slade Wilson has undergone a major change! Slade Wilson has regressed in age and regained the use of his right eye. Check out the pics below to see a side by side comparison of Joe Manganiello and the now younger Slade Wilson!

If this rumor turns out to be true, Manganiello would join an already impressive cast including Will Smith (Deadshot), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), Cara Delevigne (Enchantress), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jay Hernandez (El Diablo-rumor) and Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor-rumor). The David Ayers directed Suicide Squad movie is set to hit theatres on August 5, 2016.

My love of comics started at the age of 5, when visions of mythic beings fought their way across my TV screen. Batman '66, Super Friends, Wonder Woman, and Superman '78 filled my early childhood with imagination and adventure. Soon enough I found the spinner rack! Batman, Justice League and DC's Who's Who kept me coming back for more. I've seen the death of hope, justice broken, a light extinguished, and a universe torn! A kingdom come, the lightning return, a triumph of evil and a multiverse reborn!
