Viola Davis Finally Confirms She’s Playing Amanda Waller in ‘Suicide Squad’

After several months of unconfirmed rumors and Viola Davis herself admitting that she was in talks for the role – while trying to get around her shooting schedule for How to Get Away with Murder – Davis herself has confirmed that she will indeed play Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad.

Check out her admitting to it in this video, courtesy of etalk’s Twitter page.

As you know, Amanda Waller is a very important character in the Task Force X mythos, essentially bringing the team together. Having been previously played by Pam Grier (Smallville), Angela Bassett (Green Lantern), and Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Arrow), I’m most interested to see what Davis can bring to the table.

Suicide Squad opens in theaters August 5, 2016.

After falling into a vat of chemicals, this fellow adopted the name "Eric Joseph." Some say he is a freelance writer, while others say he can be found frequenting conventions and nightspots in the Detroit area. Needless to say, he prefers his background to be multiple choice.
