Evolution of the Cinematic Batman

cinematic batman

Batman is the iconic pillar in the DC world. Over the years we have enjoyed the evolution of what has become of the cinematic Batman. In 2014 we celebrated 75 years of the Dark Knight, and dating back to the 1940s through to Christopher Nolan’s trilogy Batman has taken various forms.

Now you can see that evolution thanks to the work of Jacob T.Swinney who has taken us on a journey to experience how Batman has evolved over time. In under eleven minutes we get to sit back and enjoy how Batman has taken shape on cinema.

Mr Swinney has hand picked various clips and edited the footage in order of release of each persona of the Batman. Comment and let us know what your favourite cinematic version of Batman is.

The films / footage included in the clip are:

Batman (1943 serial)
Batman and Robin (1949 serial)
Batman: The Movie (1966)
Batman (1989)
Batman Returns (1992)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Batman Forever (1995)
Batman & Robin (1997)
Batman Begins (2005)
The Dark Knight (2008)
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Lego Movie (2014)

Batman being my number one DC character, I really enjoyed being able to experience a consolidated view of every Batman we have seen on the big screen. Thank you Mr Swinney
