Deathstroke Returns to Arrow

Deathstroke

At Wizard World Nashville Comic Con it was confirmed that Deathstroke will be coming back to Arrow sooner than later. Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke was the main villain for Oliver Queen through much of season 2. Fans finally got to see the show-down they wanted when Ollie and Slade finally fought on the freighter. Everyone finally got the see the reason Slade Wilson wears an eye-patch. When we last left Deathstroke he was confined in an A.R.G.U.S facility on Lian Yu swearing to Ollie that he would eventually escape and get even. Usually Slade requires a paying job but you can see why he’d make an exception.

Bennett had this to say regarding his return. “Realistically, when we talk about storyline, they threw me into a really interesting place, Purgatory. And you know, I’m left at the end, shaking the bars, going, ‘I keep my promises, kid.’ And I think I meant it. So I don’t think that they are just going to let that voice subside into the vast abyss,” said Bennett. However, Bennett added, “But at this stage, I don’t know. They said at the end of the season last year, they said, ‘Look, we want you back. We want you back.’ But there’s been no indication yet of how they’ll go about that at any point in time, right now.”

MTV News reports that Manu Bennett will reprise his role in episode 314. Details to how he will play into the plot however were left untouched. Could Deathstroke actually be on the loose in Starling City? A more likely scenario is that he is either connected to Ra’s in some way or maybe he broke out and went to head-up Checkmate. Deathstroke has been connected to Ra’s al Ghul and the League of Assassins in the past. Most recently in the animated feature Son of Batman.

What do you guys think? How will Slade make his reappearance on Arrow? Will it be in a flashback, or maybe he is part of a twist no one will see coming. In any case season 3 of Arrow sounds like big things are in the works for Starling City and Team Arrow. Ra’s al Ghul, Malcolm Merlyn, Cupid, and now Deathstroke is coming back. That is an intimidating rogues gallery for anyone.
