“Ahem. Eyes up here.”

Based on artwork by renowned pinup artist Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Power Girl Premium Format™ Figure from DC Comics.

Endowed with the powers of Krypton, Superman’s strong and sassy cousin is ready to rock, flaunting her physique in her distinctive red, white and blue costume. Expertly crafted in polystone by Sideshow’s artists, Karen Starr makes a lasting impression as Power Girl, standing 21” tall over the battle-torn streets of Metropolis. The perfect addition for any DC Comics or Justice League collection, Sideshow’s Power Girl Premium Format™ Figure is sure to knock your socks off!

The history of Power Girl:

Power Girl was created by comics legend Wally Wood, Gerry Conway and Ric Estrada and debuted in All Star Comics #58 in 1976. An interesting story about her chest window, when the character was created, Wally Wood was convinced that the editors were not paying attention to anything he did. So, his inker said every issue I’m going to draw the boobs bigger until they notice it. It took about seven or eight issues before anyone was like hey, what’s with the boobs? And that’s where they stopped.

Why is there a lack of a symbol on the front of Power Girls costume? Geoff Johns answers this question in JSA Classified #2 in 2005. Power Girl explains her cleavage-window to Superman, revealing that….

“The first time I made this costume, I wanted to have a symbol, like you. I just…I couldn’t think of anything. I thought eventually, I’d figure it out. And close the hole. But I haven’t.”

I think these are the two best representations of Power Girl cos-play around! Carrie Keagan has the classic Wood style look and Alyssa Loughran has a modern powerful look!

My love of comics started at the age of 5, when visions of mythic beings fought their way across my TV screen. Batman '66, Super Friends, Wonder Woman, and Superman '78 filled my early childhood with imagination and adventure. Soon enough I found the spinner rack! Batman, Justice League and DC's Who's Who kept me coming back for more. I've seen the death of hope, justice broken, a light extinguished, and a universe torn! A kingdom come, the lightning return, a triumph of evil and a multiverse reborn!
