Well after months of speculation about who would win the May 6th, 2016 battle between Marvel’s “Captain America 3” and DC’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” it appears there will be no battle at all. Today DC announced that they would be moving the release date of their film would be on March 25th of the same year. This move may have been to help DC to get more on the opening weekend of the film as many feared that the film would split viewers and result in less attendance overall for each film. For we hat exact reason Warner Brothers did this has yet to be announced however many suggest this is because of one of the reasons stated earlier.
This is the third release date for this film as the first was on July 17th of 2015 after which Warner Bros announced the Man of Steel sequel would be pushed back to May 6th, 2016, almost 10 months after the original release date, butting heads with Marvel’s aforementioned film.
In addition to this, Warner has announced a VERY ambitious schedule of nine new DC films to be released after Batman v Superman.
The schedule is as follows:
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – 03/25/16
Untitled DC Film – 08/05/16
Untitled DC Film – 06/23/17
Untitled DC Film – 11/17/17
Untitled DC Film – 03/23/18
Untitled DC Film – 07/27/18
Untitled DC Film – 04/05/19
Untitled DC Film – 06/14/19
Untitled DC Film – 04/03/20
Untitled DC Film – 06/19/20
What exactly all of these films will be is still yet to be announced and is surely more fuel for speculation among fans and news sites that cover comic news (*wink wink* like us). There have been rumors that their would be a “Shazam” film for some time now and other heroes like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash have been at the top of movies wanted by DC Comic fans.
All in all this is a very exciting time to be a DC fan or a comic book fan in general with all the release dates announced for all the different comic book based films.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be released March 25, 2016. Keep it here for all your DC Comics News coverage updated everyday.
