Wes Bentley, Jake Gyllenhaal, Luke Evans, and Ben Affleck are the newest list of actors being attached to the iconic role. Many of the actors have loose connections to the DC movie-verse already; Wes Bentley isapparently the top choice of Christopher Nolan, director of the most recent Dark Knight’s adventures. Luke Evans has already had experience working with Henry Cavill, the Superman he would star opposite of if he were cast as Batman, in the film Immortals. Jake Gyllenhaal may have the closest connection to the Dark Knight; David Goyer, screenwriter for the upcoming Superman/Batman film, may have originally wanted Gyllenhaal to play Bruce in Batman Begins!
